About

While teaching at Bettendorf High School, Paul Lewellan received the Distinguished Teacher Award by the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars.  Casualties, his play about a school shooting, was awarded the Iowa Peace Prize by the Grinnell Peace Institute. He was honored by the Community Caring Conference as a Community Hero for efforts promoting peace, tolerance, and understanding in local education.

After retiring from the public schools, he became an adjunct instructor in the Communications Studies Department at Augustana College, in Rock Island, Illinois.

Paul lives in a cottage in Davenport, Iowa, with his wife of forty-three years, Pamela Druger. She is his muse, best friend, and accountant.  They share their home with an annoying little Shi Tzu named Mannie who just turned twenty. Since he first started writing short stories in 1996, he’s published over 160 of them. Paul’s latest story “Anger’s Sin” received the Kay Snow Award for Best Fiction from the Willamette Writers Community.
